About Elba, AL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Elba is located in southeastern Alabama, approximately 80 miles south of Montgomery and 38 miles north of the Florida state line. The city is home to a population of more than 4,000 residents and is the county seat of Coffee County.

Elba is served by the Elba City Public School District and is within 30 miles of several institutes of higher learning that include Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, Enterprise State Community College, and Troy University. The city’s progressive economy is driven by a diverse collection of businesses based largely in retail, manufacturing, and education. Affordable housing, attractive business tax incentives, and a cost of living index at nearly 20% lower than that of the national average continues to draw new residents and businesses to the city each year.

Elba’s temperate climate produces excellent weather for enjoying the city’s numerous opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation. Elba is located along the banks of the Pea River, a popular destination for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish. Coffee County Lake is located just eight miles north of the city. Managed by the Elba Parks & Recreation Department, the 80-acre reservoir features a boat launching ramp and three fishing piers that offer excellent deep-water fishing from shore.

The Elba Parks & Recreation Department maintains and operates several outstanding community parks and recreation facilities that include Summerlyn Park, Veterans Memorial Park, and Hawkins-Williams Park, home of the Elba City Pool and newly opened archery range offering recreational shooting, competition tournaments, and archery education and instruction.

Downtown Elba is home to the Coffee County Courthouse, a historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The courthouse is the setting for Pumpkins on the Square, the city’s annual fall festival that features carnival rides, children’s games and activities, Halloween treats, and tours of the haunted Coffee County Jail.

Elba also hosts Rockin’ the River, a popular celebration held each April on the banks of the Pea River in Summerlyn Park. The three-day event features live music, a 5-K race, outdoor movies, and the Pea River Flotilla – a motley collection of kayaks and canoes intent on enjoying a leisurely ten-mile trip from a designated upriver drop-off point to the boat launching ramp at Summerlyn Park.

Situated along U.S. Route 184, just sixty miles east of Interstate 65 and fifty miles north of Interstate 10, Elba is a great place to live, work, and raise a family in southeastern Alabama!
