About Evergreen, AL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Evergreen is located in southwestern Alabama, approximately 75 miles southwest of Montgomery and 90 miles northeast of Mobile. Founded in 1818 by Revolutionary War veteran James Cosey, the city is presently home to approximately 4,000 residents and is the county seat of Conecuh County.

Evergreen is served by the Conecuh County School District and is home to four public schools - Hillcrest High School, Lyeffion Junior High School, Thurgood Marshall Middle School, and Evergreen Elementary School – and Sparta Academy, a private AISA and SACS accredited school specializing in a college preparatory curriculum.

Evergreen’s temperate seasonal climate produces long hot summers and moderately cool winters – perfect weather for enjoying the numerous opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation found in and around the city. Conecuh County is one of the state’s premier hunting destinations, featuring an abundance of large and small game that includes whitetail deer, wild turkey, bobwhite quail, and feral hogs.

Popular nearby fishing spots include Conecuh County Lake and Murder Creek, a tributary of the lower Conecuh River that takes visitors on a remote adventure through the wilds of southwestern Alabama. The Sepulga River Canoe Trail is a popular destination for paddlers and floaters who are drawn by the river’s deep crystal clear waters, high limestone walls, and Class 1 rapids. The trail takes paddlers beneath the Bull Slough Bridge, a 252-foot iron bridge build in 1924 that features a pony truss design.

Downtown Evergreen is home to the historic Evergreen Depot, a circa-1907 train depot located on the old L & N Railroad line. The city hosts the annual Evergreen Sausage Festival, a popular event held the third weekend of each October that features live music, arts and crafts, children’s activities, a barbecue cook-off, and delicious locally made Conecuh Sausage.

Conveniently situated on Interstate 65, Evergreen is located within 75 miles of the big city amenities of Montgomery and Mobile and within 130 miles of the gorgeous Gulf beaches of Panama City, Florida!
