Red Level is located in Covington County, Alabama, approximately ten miles northwest of Andalusia and eighty miles south of Montgomery. The city is home to a population of approximately 487 residents who enjoy the safe streets, affordable housing, and outstanding community amenities that make Red Level a great place to live.

Red Level is home to Red Level High School, a U.S. News & World Report Bronze Medal award winner for the 2015 school year. The city is located within twenty miles of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia and Reid State Technical College in Evergreen.

Red Level experiences a moderate seasonal climate that produces hot humid summers and mild cool winters – perfect weather for enjoying the fabulous opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation that populate the area.

Red Level is located fifteen miles west of Gantt Lake, a 2,700-acre recreational reservoir that features excellent fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing. The lake boasts over 21 miles of shoreline and is home to Gantt Lake RV Park, a full-service RV and tent camping facility that offers lakeside campsites, picnicking facilities, and natural trails for hiking and biking.

Conecuh National Forest is located just twenty miles south of town. The forest features 84,000 acres of longleaf pine, shallow ponds, bogs, and wetlands – prime habitat for a variety of large and small game species that draw hunters from miles around for in-season hunts of deer, wild turkey, and quail. The forest is home to the Blue Lake and Open Pond recreation areas, both popular destinations for camping, fishing, hiking, biking, backpacking, picnicking, and wildlife viewing.  

Local Red Level festivals and special events include the Buck Creek Color Run, a 5K race sponsored by Buck Creek Baptist Church, and the Red Level Community Christmas Parade, held the second weekend in December. The city is home to Crystal Springs Park, a multi-purpose community complex that features picnic facilities, a small amphitheater, and Bobby Dye Stadium, home of the Red Level High School Tigers varsity football team.

Conveniently situated on State Route 55, just twenty-five miles east of I-65 and forty miles north of the Florida state line, Red Level is a great place to live, work, and raise a family in south-central Alabama!
