Wing is located in Covington County, Alabama, approximately 20 miles south of Andalusia and five miles north of the Florida state line. The city is home to a population of approximately 400 residents who enjoy a variety of amenities that include affordable housing, low crime, and a cost of living index rated more than 15% below that of the national average.

Wing’s humid subtropical climate produces long hot summers and relatively mild winters – perfect weather for enjoying the numerous opportunities for sports and recreation that dominate the area. Wing is situated entirely within the Conecuh National Forest, an 84,000-acre expanse of forestland that stretches from the city of Andalusia to the Florida state line. The forest is an excellent resource for fishing, boating, hiking, biking, camping, hunting, and wildlife viewing and is home to several excellent recreational sites that include the Leon Brooks Hines Public Fishing Lake, Blue Lake Recreation Area, and Open Pond Recreation Area.

The Conecuh Shooting Range is located just four miles north of town. The range provides a safe environment for firearms practice with covered shooting benches on 100-yard, 50-yard, and 25-yard firing lanes, as well as an area for shooting clays.

Florala State Park is located 20 miles east of the city. Situated along the Florida state line, the park surrounds Lake Jackson and features a host of amenities that include fishing, boating, picnicking, swimming, and camping along the lake’s pristine, tree-lined shore that features lovely stands of cypress and pine trees draped with Spanish moss. The park is a favorite among anglers, who come from miles around to fish for largemouth bass, bream, crappie, and catfish.
